Your Itinerary

Day One Highlights

  • Arrive in Havana- Havana's Jose Marti Airport
  • Private transport from the airport to Cienfuegos, a waterfront city on Cuba's south coast- known as "Pearl of Cuba" for its beauty and pristine condition
  • Stop 1- Visit the Playa Giron and take a splash in the Caribbean Sea, lunch to follow. Swimsuits!
  • Stop 2- Visit the famous Bay of Pigs Museum, a very important part of Cuban-American History
  • Arrive in Cienfuegos and check into our "casas", which will be home for three nights.
  • Welcome dinner provided

Day Two HIghlights

  • Wake up and rise to breakfast as casas, served at 8:00am
  • City tour including a visit to the Palacio del Valle and Cienfuegos Plaza, tour begins at 9:00am
  • TBD Group activity tailored to the specific tour group 
  • Lunch provided 
  • In the afternoon feel free to raod and explore with local Cubans and discover more of the beautiful UNESCO city
  • Return to casas after a day full of fun

Day Three Highlights

  • Breakfast at casas, served at 8:00am
  • Board bus for a day trip to TRINIDAD- the third oldest and one of the most historic cities of Cuba, bus boards at 9:00am
  • Unstructured time to interact with locals and enjoy beautiful Trinidad
  • Lunch provided
  • Drive for a mountain expedition to the incredibly scenic and breathtaking destination of Topes de Collantes, replete with mountain rivers and waterfalls. Enjoy refreshing swimming in the El Cubano pools and nature hiking. Bring your swimsuits!
  • Return to Cienfuegos after a full day of adventure 

Day Four Highlights

  • Breakfast at casas, served at 7:30am
  • Board bus for return trip to Havana, bus boards at 8:30am
  • Walking tour to visit historic Old Havana. Walking tour of Havana's four historic plaza's

  • Lunch provided a La El Torre, situated 33 stories above Havana with a breathtaking view of the city
  • Havana Club Rum Museum. Taste some of Cuba's best rum!

Day Five Highights

  • Breakfast at casas, served at 8:00am
  • Board bus to visit "Fusterlandia", home and neighborhood of Jose Fuster, known as the "Picasso of the Caribbean" for his amazing and world famous ceramic artistry. You will have the opportunity to have your personal tile placed in this neighborhood to mark your spot to perpeturity.
  • Meet with a faculty member of the University of Havana to discuss the economic history of Cuba from the perspective of the past, present and future. One hour lecture followed by a thirty minute Q&A period.
  • Lunch provided at El Rejoneo, a true Cuban neighborhood "paladar"
  • Visit Revolution Square and Revolution Museum, the Cuban government's military museum of past wars and conflicts
  • Visit San Jose "flea" market with a great assortment of authentic Cuban paintings and other items to bring home
  • Return to casas to rest
  • Attend Historical Cannon Firing Ceremony 
  • Return to casas after a full day of tours and adventure

Day Six Highlights

  • Breakfast in casas, at 8:00am
  • Board bus for a full day excursion to the beautiful and montanious province of Pinar del Rio, approximately 180 kms. This western most region is known for its amazing valleys, landscapes, and mountains. Bus boards at 9:00am.
  • Visit one of the famous tabacco farms, Finka de Tobaco, Learn how this mainstay crop of Cuba is planted, harvested and prepared for shipping to tobacco factories to create the final product, a personal guided tour by the owner Montisino will highlight the visit. 
  • Lunch will be provided at the only Cuban Organic farm on the island, Finka de Organico. A tour of the farm will follow lunch.
  • Visit an authentic tabacoo factory in Pinar del Rio. See how the leaves are transformed into the final product of Cohiba cigars.
  • Return to Havana casas after a complete day

Day Seven Highlights

  • Breakfast at casas, served at 8:00am
  • Board bus to travel to an elementary school and visit an actual classroom. See how students spend a normal day. We ask that everyone bring at least one lined notebook with pencils for the kids. Other school supplies are always appreciated by the kids.
  • Board bus to visit Hemingway's house, a fascinating museum to the great American writer.
  • Lunch provided at Havana's newest pizza and cheeseburger pladar, D'Next.
  • Meet the University of Havana professor who will speak to us about how the Mafia affected Cuban culture. This will include a 2 hour tour of mafia "hot spots" in Havana.
  • Return to casas to clean up and relax
  • Farewell dinner provided at El Aljibe, Cuba's most famous chicken restaurant
  • Day finished after farewell dinner

Day Eight

  • Breakfast in casa at 8:30am
  • Depending on flight departure time(s) from Jose Marti Airport, we could include some additional unscheduled time to further explore Havana and interact with the local Cubans
